Stronghold: AI Prompt Vault · Last updated: July 2026
"Your prompts live on this device. No account. No cloud —
unless you back up to your own Google Drive."
What we store, and where
Every prompt, collection, tag, and setting you create is stored locally in
your browser's extension storage on your own device. We operate no servers
and never receive, see, or transmit the content of your prompts.
The only two network connections
- License verification (Pro). If you purchase Pro, the
extension verifies your license through ExtensionPay. Only license
information (such as a license key and the purchaser's email, handled by
ExtensionPay for payment processing) is involved — never the content of
your prompts.
- Google Drive backup (Pro, opt-in). If you turn on
Backup, the extension writes a single file —
PromptVault-Backup.json — directly from your device to
your Google Drive, using the narrow drive.file
permission (it can only access files it created). The file is visible in
your Drive; you can read, download, or delete it at any time. We never
see it.
What we do not do
- No analytics, telemetry, or error-reporting tools.
- No accounts, no tracking, and no third-party network requests beyond the
two described above.
- No remote fonts, scripts, or images — everything ships bundled inside
the extension.
- We never sell your data, and we never use it for advertising, profiling,
or creditworthiness.
Permissions we request, and why
- Storage — to save your prompts on your device.
- Side panel & context menu — to show your library and
let you save selected text.
- Access to chatgpt.com, chat.openai.com, claude.ai, and
gemini.google.com — so the extension can find the message box on
those sites and insert your prompt. It does nothing else on those pages
and runs nowhere else.
- Identity (optional) — requested only if you enable
Google Drive backup, to obtain a token for your own Drive.
Data deletion
Uninstalling the extension removes all local data. "Erase everything" in
Settings does the same while keeping the extension installed. Any Google
Drive backup you made stays in your Drive under your control — delete that
file whenever you like.
